Building Bridges for Connection and Belonging
If you’re looking for speech therapy that celebrates neurodiversity, a thoughtful autism assessment, or a parenting program that strengthens connection, you’re in the right place.
With over 27 years of experience, I offer compassionate, personalised support grounded in evidence and guided by curiosity, care, and collaboration. My services are designed to meet you where you’re at, helping children communicate more freely, parents feel more confident, and professionals grow in their practice.
Explore the services below to see how we can work together.
Autism Assessments
I’ve teamed up with Megan Hollingworth Psychology to offer multidisciplinary autism assessments, combining over 50 years of experience between us. We specialise in working with children whose presentations might be more subtle or complex, where careful collaboration and thorough observation can make all the difference.
Megan brings deep expertise in diagnostic decision-making, and together we work closely to ensure a clear, considered outcome. Our collaborative process helps us notice the small things, those subtle details that really matter. We talk openly and reflectively so that any diagnosis (or non-diagnosis) truly reflects your child.
We involve parents every step of the way. Your insights and experiences are incredibly valuable, and we have deep respect for what you know about your child. This helps us make decisions that are not only clinically sound but also grounded in real life – how your child is at home, at school, and in their world.
We use a range of up-to-date tools to inform our assessments, including:
- ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule)
- CARS-2 (Childhood Autism Rating Scale)
- MIGDAS-2 (Monarch Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing Autism Spectrum)
- SRS-2 (Social Responsiveness Scale)
- Comprehensive Language Assessments
- Children’s Communication Checklist
These tools help us build a full picture of your child and consider other possibilities too, like language disorders or co-occurring conditions, so nothing important is missed.
At the end of the assessment, we take the time to talk everything through. Our goal is for you to leave with clarity about where your child sits and a sense of the supports or accommodations that will help them thrive.
Speech Therapy
At the heart of my therapy approach is connection. Building a strong relationship with your child is where it all begins, because meaningful therapy is grounded in trust, curiosity, and understanding. I take the time to get to know who your child is, how they think, and how they experience the world both inside and outside the therapy space.
I work closely with parents to develop a compassionate and practical understanding of what’s going on for their child. I know that raising a child who doesn’t fit neatly into the box can sometimes be tricky, and I’m here to help you find what works – at home, at school, and in life.
My practice is deeply informed by an appreciation of neurodiversity. I love quirk. I celebrate difference. I want to help kids discover how they can thrive in the world, not by masking or changing who they are, but by building bridges of understanding between children, parents, teachers, and peers.
Therapy with me is holistic and individualised. We might work on:
- Navigating tricky social situations
- Building friendships
- Developing a strong sense of identity
- Reducing misunderstandings
- Expressing needs clearly
- Building literacy (reading), language (speaking and understanding) and speech clarity.
- Understanding others’ perspectives
- Finding ways to make environments work be it school, home or the workplace.
I bring 27 years experience to provide services for people focusing on speech, language, literacy and social communication difficulties or differences. I also support children with complex communication needs, including those who use AAC, and I draw on experience across the lifespan from early childhood through to adult practice. That broader perspective helps me keep sight of the long game: developing communication tools and strategies that grow with your child.
I love working with autistic and ADHD children of all different levels including those who are twice exceptional (gifted and neurodivergent) and I tailor every session to support the whole child in their unique context. I am happy to meet your kids where they are at, even on their messiest days. I also have an interest in working with young people with a brain injury, supporting them to navigate different challenges. I also love working with neurodivergent adults who want support to navigate the complex social world or workplace.
Therapy is always collaborative. I respect the deep knowledge parents bring, and I’m here to walk alongside you with evidence-based support, practical ideas, and genuine care.
Parenting Programs
I bring extensive experience in delivering parenting programs across a wide range of settings, including mental health services, community health and in private practice with groups and 1:1. I’ve been trained in several evidence-based programs, including:
- Circle of Security
- It Takes Two to Talk (Hanen)
- It’s More Than Words (Hanen)
- TalkAbility (Hanen)
- Tuning into Kids and Parent-child
- Mother Goose
Please contact me should you wish to complete any of these programs on a 1:1 basis.
My current focus for parent group training is on Circle of Security Parenting, a program that aligns beautifully with my values of connection, kindness, and emotional attunement.
Circle of Security helps parents understand their child’s emotional world and how behaviours, even tricky or messy ones, are often driven by a deep need for connection. It offers compassionate insights into how children seek closeness and how parents can respond in ways that strengthen the bond between them.
In my sessions, I weave in knowledge from decades of work in communication, neurodiversity, and emotional regulation. I help parents reflect on how communication patterns, sensory needs, and stress responses can shape relationships and how small shifts in understanding can make a big difference.
I believe in the power of strong, connected relationships to support children not just through early childhood, but throughout their lives. These foundations matter and I’m here to support parents in building them with confidence and care.
